Arkansas County Judge Clark Hall Censured and Urged to Resign After Kicking In a Locked Office Door and Nearly Coming to Blows
Arkansas Democrat-Gazette
Published: May 20, 2025
Clark Hall, the Phillips County, Arkansas Judge, kicked in a locked office door on the morning of April 16, 2025, after noticing the office light was on and believing the occupant had forgotten to turn it off the previous day. The incident triggered a heated verbal altercation between Hall and Deputy Prosecutor Chuck Halbert that escalated to the point that other people had to physically separate the two men to prevent them from fighting, according to a sheriff's report. The woman whose office door was damaged requested a no-contact order, saying she feared for her safety.
The Phillips County Quorum Court voted 7-0 on May 13, 2025, to censure Hall and formally call for his resignation. As of the most recent reporting found, Hall had not stepped down.
