Thomas Bordeaux

Thomas C. Bordeaux Jr., the Probate Court judge for Chatham County, Georgia, faces formal removal proceedings after the state's Judicial Qualifications Commission found he failed to issue timely rulings in 16 cases, with some delays stretching more than seven years. The JQC's Investigative Panel found reasonable cause to believe Bordeaux committed misconduct and directed formal charges to be filed, ultimately bringing 10 counts alleging violations of at least two provisions of Georgia's Code of Judicial Conduct.

Bordeaux admitted to the delayed rulings ahead of his ethics hearing. In December 2025, a JQC hearing panel unanimously recommended that Bordeaux be removed from the bench over the pattern of delays.
