Jimmie Moore, ex-Philly judge who took bribes from Bob Brady's campaign, can practice law again
The Philadelphia Inquirer
Published: August 20, 2025
Jimmie Moore, a former senior judge of the Philadelphia Municipal Court, struck a corrupt deal in 2012 in which he agreed to withdraw from a congressional primary against U.S. Rep. Bob Brady in exchange for approximately $90,000 funneled from Brady's own campaign to pay off Moore's campaign debts. Moore later pleaded guilty to causing false statements to the Federal Election Commission in connection with disguising the source of that payment.
His law license was revoked in 2021 after he admitted to falsifying campaign records to conceal the money's origin. By order of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court dated August 18, 2025, Moore — now 74 — was reinstated to practice law following a disciplinary board hearing in which he expressed remorse, on a 9-3 vote.
