Amy Zanelli

Amy L. Zanelli, a Magisterial District Judge in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, faces formal misconduct charges filed by the state Judicial Conduct Board in the Court of Judicial Discipline. The complaint alleges Zanelli kept what she called a "Book of Grudges" in her office, containing negative remarks about people who had appeared before her, including a derogatory comment about a local attorney, and that she displayed a sexually explicit desk calendar in a shared work area of the court office.

The charges also allege a pattern of lateness and unavailability — Zanelli was repeatedly late to scheduled proceedings and often unreachable during business hours, causing delays and prompting public complaints — as well as conducting remote hearings from home during a medical absence without required approval, and failing to file paperwork state court officials had directed her to submit. A conference judge has been appointed while the matter proceeds. Zanelli has the right to respond to the charges, review the evidence, and request a public trial before the Court of Judicial Discipline.
