Baltimore District Judge Kevin M. Wilson to resign after allegation of unwanted sexual advances
The Baltimore Banner
Published: April 04, 2024
At a Bar Association of Baltimore City Young Lawyers Division event in May 2023, District Judge Kevin M. Wilson made unwanted physical contact with an attorney. When she stood up to leave, she felt Wilson touch her leg in what she described as an up-and-down movement — witnessed by two other attorneys, one of whom told Wilson directly to stop. According to the attorney's account, Wilson then placed his hand back on her leg, moved it under her skirt, and touched her buttocks.
The Maryland Commission on Judicial Disabilities charged Wilson with five separate rule violations. In his official response, Wilson's attorneys said he had formed "a genuine belief" the interaction was mutual and welcomed; he admitted to touching her ankle, calf, and what he called her "lower hamstring," but denied the additional touching the attorney described. Wilson resigned in April 2024, before a scheduled two-day disciplinary hearing could take place; the Commission cancelled the hearing as a result.
