Kristyne Schaaf-Olson Removed

Kristyne Schaaf-Olson, a Judge Pro Tempore for the Yavapai County Superior Court in Prescott, Arizona, resigned on October 6, 2025, days after Prescott police responded to reports of a woman relieving herself near the Courthouse Plaza. Body camera footage showed an officer finding Schaaf-Olson with her pants down as she relieved herself and vomited near Montezuma and Gurley Streets, close to the courthouse where she served; the responding officer described the scene as "disgusting." Schaaf-Olson received a misdemeanor citation for urinating or defecating in public. Her husband, who was also present, separately faced charges including resisting arrest, interfering with a crime-scene investigation, and obstruction of government operations. In her resignation statement, Schaaf-Olson said the decision came "after careful consideration of current physical, medical, and family circumstances," and accepted full responsibility.
