Shannon McNeal Suspended

Shannon McNeal, a part-time DeKalb County, Georgia magistrate judge and attorney, was filmed by YouTuber Russell Pickron inside the public service area of a Decatur tag office in November 2024. In the video, McNeal told Pickron her privacy rights were "better" than his and that he lacked permission to film her. When Pickron continued filming, McNeal began filming him back, telling him: "If you're going to film me, I'm going to film you. And I'm going to film you all the way outside and film your tag number. And then I'm going to look up your tag number and I'm going to go to your house." The confrontation prompted an ethics investigation by both DeKalb County's chief magistrate judge and the Georgia Judicial Qualifications Commission. As a result, McNeal was pulled from hearing or adjudicating court matters while the investigation proceeds.
