Tiffany Foxworth-Roberts Removed

Tiffany Foxworth-Roberts, a former judge on Louisiana's 19th Judicial District Court, lied about serving in combat and filed false reports to collect insurance money — and the state's highest court permanently threw her off the bench for it. The Louisiana Supreme Court voted 4-3 on December 11, 2025 to remove Foxworth-Roberts from office and bar her from holding judicial office for five years, the first time the court has removed a judge in sixteen years. The Judiciary Commission's investigation found she had falsely claimed, in campaign materials, to have served as a U.S. Army captain with combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan — when military records show she was only 16 years old during Desert Storm, was twice passed over for promotion to captain, and was discharged as a first lieutenant, never having deployed.

The commission also found she reported a $19,000 diamond ring stolen from her vehicle to police, then separately filed a homeowners' insurance claim covering her engagement ring as well — for a combined claim of roughly $40,000, on which the insurer paid out about $24,000. She told her insurance company the break-in happened miles from where she told police it occurred, and the items she reported stolen to each did not match. The court found she had not been forthcoming during the investigation itself, and denied her subsequent request for a rehearing.
