Lucas Whitmore Admonished

Antwerp Town Justice Lucas Whitmore was admonished by the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct after inserting himself into an October 2022 eviction proceeding presided over by his fellow town justice, Donald Hull — a case Whitmore had no formal role in at all. The Commission found Whitmore sat near the bench and repeatedly interjected with substantive questions during the hearing, effectively acting as a second judge over tenants who were only expecting to face one. Hull, the presiding judge, was separately and more severely censured for his own conduct during the same hearing, including making disrespectful ethnic comments about the tenants.
