Bradley S. Knoll, a judge on Michigan's 58th District Court since 2003, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic assault stemming from a December 13, 2023 incident at his Grand Haven home. According to the Judicial Tenure Commission's complaint, when Knoll's 12-year-old grandson resisted getting ready for school that morning, Knoll yelled at the boy and grabbed his face; when the boy began crying, Knoll's wife intervened, and Knoll struck her on top of the head. The Michigan Supreme Court immediately suspended Knoll with pay after the Judicial Tenure Commission petitioned for it. Knoll then entered a consent agreement with the Commission agreeing to retire early, effective July 1, 2026, and agreeing not to preside over any domestic violence cases through 2027 in the event he ever returned to judicial service.
