Julie Hawes Gordon Removed

Julie Hawes Gordon, a Family Court judge for Kentucky's 6th Judicial Circuit in Daviess County, was removed from office by the state's Judicial Conduct Commission in April 2022, which found she committed judicial misconduct on five of six counts charged against her. The Commission's findings centered on Gordon inappropriately inserting herself into at least three of her own son's criminal cases. Gordon appealed, arguing the Commission's decision was made in error, but the Kentucky Supreme Court affirmed the Commission's findings, ruling that Gordon had violated the Code of Judicial Conduct. She subsequently withdrew from the race to keep her Family Court seat.
