Clyde "Bubba" Howse Reprimanded Removed

The Texas State Commission on Judicial Conduct publicly reprimanded Medina County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Clyde "Bubba" Howse in October 2023 after he requested a female employee's cellphone number and texted her: "Good. Because sometimes I have naughty thoughts about you!! Do you want to know what they are about??" The county's HR investigation into the complaint uncovered that Howse had harassed other employees too -- one woman said that after she turned down an "initial advance" from Howse, he asked her "if she wanted to have a threesome." Roughly a year later, in October 2024, the state received three new complaints about Howse's conduct, including one from a Medina County employee describing an unsolicited, sexually charged conversation Howse had initiated with them about another judge's marital and intimacy problems. Howse signed a voluntary agreement to resign effective November 1, 2024, in lieu of facing further disciplinary proceedings.
