Cele Hancock Removed

Cele Hancock, a Yavapai County Superior Court judge first elected in 2010, was arrested on March 19, 2023, during a traffic stop in Prescott after police reported seeing her stumble out of a local grocery store appearing intoxicated before driving off. Breath tests showed a blood-alcohol concentration as high as 0.219% and 0.214% — nearly three times Arizona's 0.08% legal limit — with an initial reading of 0.158%. She was convicted of misdemeanor DUI in May 2023. The Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct announced that Hancock had agreed to resign to resolve the complaint filed against her, and as part of the resolution, agreed to never serve as a judicial officer in Arizona in any capacity again.
