New York Judge Lucas Ferrin Resigns as a Condition of His DWI Guilty Plea, Agrees to Never Hold Office Again
Spectrum News (Central NY)
Published: June 18, 2025
Lucas H. Ferrin, a justice of the Conquest Town Court in Cayuga County, New York since January 2024, was pulled over for erratic driving on October 26, 2024, by troopers on State Street Road in the town of Mentz. Ferrin refused to exit his vehicle and refused field sobriety tests before troopers were able to assist him out. He faced a series of charges including driving while intoxicated and obstructing governmental administration. On April 28, 2025, Ferrin pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor DWI charge, resolving all related charges, and stepped down from the bench that same day. His resignation was an explicit condition of the plea agreement, under which he also agreed to never seek or accept judicial office again.
