Sherri L. Eisenpress Removed

Rockland County Supreme Court Justice Sherri L. Eisenpress was formally charged with misconduct by the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct for failing to disclose extensive personal relationships with attorneys who appeared before her. From 2019 to 2024, she presided over at least 55 cases involving a group of roughly six attorneys with whom she maintained close personal and social ties — including three consecutive years of group vacations to Mexico, plus trips to the Dominican Republic and the Jersey Shore, alongside court staff and text message chains among the group. Separately, from 2016 to 2025, she presided over at least 41 cases involving the law firm of her own principal law clerk's spouse, without disclosing the relationship or walling the clerk off from those cases. Eisenpress agreed to retire effective April 28, 2026, and never return to the bench. Under the terms of her settlement, there is no formal finding of misconduct and no admission of wrongdoing.
