Danielle McRae Removed

Upson County Probate Judge Danielle McRae resigned after 13 years on the bench amid a Georgia Judicial Qualifications Commission investigation into misusing county funds. The Commission's allegations included that McRae used a county-issued purchasing card to pay for a personal trip and lodging, and that she voided payments owed to her own probate court for traffic citations on multiple occasions between 2018 and 2025. The Commission further found McRae was not truthful with its own investigators during the inquiry.

Governor Brian Kemp accepted McRae's resignation effective immediately. As part of the resolution, McRae agreed never to seek, request, or accept any elected or appointed judicial office in the future. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation separately opened its own probe into her conduct.
